Solar (photovoltaic) panels capture sunlight to create electricity. The solar panels we use in our systems are picked with 30 years of experience on the Costa Blanca. We only work with monocrystalline tier 1 A-brands such as Hyundai and Sunpower, with an efficiency of 21% or higher and a warranty of at least 25 years.
An inverter or micro-inverters
An inverter inverts DC electricity produced by the solar panels into AC electricity, the type of electricity we use in our homes. Depending on the situation, we will advise a string-inverter, where one main inverter is placed inside the house, or micro-inverters, where each panel will have its own individual inverter on the back of the solar panel. Wether we use a string-inverter or micro-inverters depends on multiple factors, such as shade and having multiple different roof inclinations and/or orientations. We only install premium hybrid inverters by global market leaders such as Huawei, SolarEdge and Enphase.
Optimisers (when necessary)
When a string-inverter is used, panels that can potentially have shade on them should be outfitted with an optimiser, so that they won’t negatively influence the panels in full sunlight. They also mitigate any type of mismatches when panels are placed with different orientations and/or inclinations.
Solar panel mounting materials
We install on any type of roof, any type of surface area and on vertical wals. All mounting systems we use are always 100% leakage and storm proof.
Wether battery-storage is a good investment for you, depends on multiple factors. We often advise our clients to add battery storage to the system at a later point in time, when we have more information about production, consumption and surplus electricity via the app of the system, as battery-storage is relatively expensive in comparison to the main solar panel system. Battery storage can be interesting when you charge the battery every day, and discharge the battery every night. When you don’t live in Spain all year, we do not advise battery-storage.
Surplus electricity can be stored inside one or more lithium-ion batteries, so that this electricity can be used at night and during times the house uses more electricity than the panels are generating. We often advise our clients to add battery storage to the system at a later point in time, when we have a lot of information about your consumption/production/surplus electricity via the data (app) of the system, which we can use to better advise you how much capacity is needed. As we work with hybrid inverters, battery storage can always be connected to the system. This can be done immediately during installation of the main system, or at a later point in time.
